Just wanted to let everyone know that there is a theme for the Bi-Mo Contest (finally!) You can check the theme by clicking the page "Bi-Monthly Contest." It's on there.
Also, I'm seriously missing eating doughnuts at Saturday workshops, so people, give us some ideas.WE NEED IDEAS. Even if you think your idea may be lame, any idea is better than no idea at all. And no idea is a bad one... well, not really, but you get what I mean. Even if it is just a baby idea, that's alright.
People who want to be part of the "Council"or "League" or whatever you call it-
E-mail, comment, or tell me, Sam, Cassidy, or Mr. Manternach if you want to be part of the Council. I'll be making a list. Just make sure you can make as many meetings as possible, and maybe more. It's not like you'll be a president or anything, so don't worry, you'll just have a larger say in what's going on in art club.
I'd really like to get the Renegade Art Club moving along, so let's start getting ideas!!
Hope you all have a great day, and don't forget to smile! :)

Ideas!
Hey everyone!
So we've been discussing what our big project should be for this year. Please comment, vote, or suggest ideas on this post, e-mail them, or just tell Mr.Manternach, Cassidy, or Sam.
Here are some ideas proposed so far:
-Poolside Mural
-Downtown Warehouse Mural
-Mosaic
(I don't have the expensive ideas up on here because, well, they are expensive. Not saying they aren't good though.)
Please give us ideas!! :)
Also, we need to have council members sooner or later, so figure out if you can and want to be a council member or not- I believe we will be figuring that out Thursday, or at least signing up for it. Make sure you can come to all the meetings if you want to be a council member!
Have a great day, everybody!

Forms
I forgot to put this in the e-mail, so might as well put it up on here, right?
Remember to turn in your permission slips, and remember you also need $5 along with that. If you have unfortunately lost your permission slip, just go to the page "Handouts from Meetings" and it's right there.
Also, there is a contest I'd like to share with you guys. It's held by celebratingart.com, and all you have to do is make a pretty picture, (or sculpture, even) take a picture of it or scan it, and send it in via the internet. Then you wait a little bit, and then you see if they want to publish your art in their book of art! Here's the link to the website: http://celebratingart.com/index.php. Ask me or comment on here if you have any questions on joining- I've done it two times before, and I'm entering again, so I can help you out, if needed.
I believe that is all- if I think of anything else, I'll just add some more info to the post or something along the lines of that. Have a great day!

Coming Soon To A Blog Near You
Well my friends, let me tell you- this blog is going to be used next year.
At least, I hope so.
Anyway, I hope you like the new look. I'm going to try my best to make this blog full of answers to your Art Club questions, and also, simply, just easy to view. Comment if you have an idea for the blog, such as a new page that would be helpful or a new way to organize everything. Also, to comment, I believe you need to follow the blog. The follow button is over to the right of your screen- do you see it? Yeah, the one with "Followers." Follow the blog and you can leave comments and questions. This blog is still under construction, but once I figure everything out, it will be a rather nice blog.
So, until then, have a great, renegadeous summer! See you all in August!

Friendly Reminder
Hello all you Renegade Arts Members!
Just a friendly reminder to all of you that we are having studio days Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. Also, every other Saturday is a Studio day too, and it goes from 9 to 2-ish. (Also, if you come to the Saturday Workshops, you may get donuts or bagels!) The next Saturday Workshop is the 11th of February. Remember that one Saturday counts as two after-school studio days, and that either you make a Saturday workshop or you attend the after school studio days once or, if you can, twice a week. If you have time, you could even come in a morning or in a study hall, if it works out with Mr. Manternach.
Remember that the last pot-making day is March 16th, the last bisque is the 23rd,and the last glaze firing is the 30th. Procrastinating something we do not want to do now- so start making pots! Renegade Arts will not be on your transcript unless you make 3+ pots.
And yeah, I'm probably bribing you right now... Saturday Workshops have donuts!!

Okay, so yeah, I was being lazy
I hope everyone has been successful this break in avoiding relatives that need avoiding and have escaped the sampling of that one dish you're convinced gave you food poisoning one year. No? My apologies.
On another note though, is the fact that tomorrow is ART GUMBO (!) and here's some tidbits you all need to know.
WHERE: The E.B. Lyons Interpreter Center (8991 Bellevue Heights)
WHEN: Thursday the 29th of December
TIME: Officers: 5-9, Regular Members: 6-8
*we are interrupting this email to display a brief message from our co-presidents, Erica and Sam!*
(that was pretty weak applause guys, but no worries, I won't tell them)
---------------
Hello, friends. As you may know, the Art Gumbo is scheduled for six o'clock (unless you signed up to help early, then you could show up at five) on Thursday, December 29th. We now know that the Art Gumbo is to be held at the E.B. Lyon's Center which is at 8991 Bellevue Heights. Even if you didn't sign up to help, we'd like it if members of Renegade Arts and friends or family would show up to show support. The admission is ten dollars, and you just eat, listen to proposals, and vote for the best idea. If you are volunteering, it is free to be there and eat, but you can't vote unless you pay the ten dollars. This will also count as volunteer hours if you're interested in that. Thanks, and hope to see you there!
---------------
Ehh, that made my job a lot easier... Very nice. So everyone needs to know what they need to know. Oh, and officers, if you can't make it, reply to this email or if its more of a last minute oh-my-gosh-mom-just-ran-over- a-nail-and-now-the-car-won't- move or I-have-an-appendicitis-and- need-surgery-NOW just text Erica (563-581-6164) or Sam (563-580-7898) that you can't attend due to dire circumstances.

I would read the following if I were you...
Hello members!
We are very happy so many people want to be a part of art club, it's a good thing. But, as in all clubs, you must commit. Many people have missed our meetings, and very, very soon we will be making pots. And not just missing, but not having the dedication to inform others in Renegade that you'll be gone so that you can be brought up to date. Secondly, half the people who signed up for art club have not turned in their slips (including some officers). Please, if you really want to be a part of this club, you must turn in your permission slip. We have now put a deadline to turn them in- before holiday break. If you do not turn the slip in before break, you will not be a part of Renegade Arts.
Another thing is, as I mentioned before, we will be making pots very soon. Tuesdays starting after break will be work days. Further bits of this will be explained at the meeting, so attend. Thursdays too are days that will be devoted for art club. New requirements are to be talked about at the December 20th meeting, so come.
For Next Meeting:
We need logos!! Make 'em, design 'em, just draw it down! Next meeting, that is, the 20th, we will be DECIDING on a logo to put on our posters, shirts, cards, etc. If we do not have a logo, we will have Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez for a logo. Yes, those two. With hearts around them. And some hearts will even have wings. Crazy right. Yeah, crazy enough that you need to get designs in. Any idea you have will be much better than JB and SG, so please bring it.
We will also be making cards for the nice people of Heritage Manor on the 20th. If you can, bring scrap paper, markers, glue, feathers, glitter, or anything artsy to spice up the cards. We want these cards to be awesome and artistic- we are an art club. So that means no boring, half-heartedly made pieces of paper. Also don't scare the people with cards like, "Happy Last Holiday, hope it's a good one!" They really don't want death on their minds, because, let's face it, nobody does. Also, for items brought in that you want back, put your name on it. Or a ring.
And yes, it will be "Happy Holiday" greetings that are sent. "No offending people" is one of those secret mottos Renegade Arts has.
Finally, bring some inspiring materials/textures/pictures to put on the inspiration board. We need some inspiration to make awesome pots! Bring anything from a clip in a magazine to a stick you found in the courtyard. As long as it makes you think, it works.
And a quick reminder- we have permission slips and the papers from meetings past on the beautiful green cabinet in the 3-D art room. And please, please, please try your best to make the next meeting! More so than the fact it will be information filled and fun, but failure to show up means you are no longer a member.(That's why I was pretty heavy handed with the "bold" option.) Harsh? Yes. Necessary? Yes. Just consider yourself warned.
Until we meet again.
(Epic movie scene should've popped into mind)
